Motherjane is an Indian rock band from Kochi, India, formed in 1996. The band consists of John Thomas (drums and percussion), Clyde Rozario (bass guitar), Deepu Sasidharan (guitar and backing vocals), Santosh Chandran (guitar) and Vivek Thomas - Vocals. They have released a total of two studio albums, and three singles. Since their formation, different styles like progressive rock and Carnatic music have influenced their music.
In 2008, Motherjane opened for Megadeth and Machine Head in Rock in India 2008, Bangalore and for Opeth in Saarang '08 at IIT Madras. Motherjane has been a frequent headliner of college rock festivals across India and has performed at IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi,IIT Guwahati,AIIMS, VIT University and BITS Pilani amongst several others.
Motherjane was ranked #1 in Rock Street Journal's bands of the decade in 2010.In the 2010 AVIMA Awards, Motherjane won the award for the Most Popular Act of Asia, and lead vocalist Suraj Mani was awarded Best Rock Vocalist. In the 2009 AVIMA Awards, Motherjane was awarded the Best Rock Act.

2. Avial
Avial is an Indian alternative rock band from Trivandrum, Kerala, India. The band is named after the popular South Indian dish Avial. The band consists of Tony John (vocals), Rex Vijayan (guitars), Mithun Puthanveetil (drums), and Binny Isaac (bass). The band's music is a fusion of native folk music from Kerala and Alternative Rock. The band was formed in 2003 in Thiruvananthapuram(Trivandrum) in Kerala, and focussed on rock performances only in Malayalam language.
Avial's performances have been in major cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Madras, Cochin (Ernakulam), Trivandrum and so on. Shows were also held internationally in places like Dubai, Mauritius, Reunion Island etc. They were honored to perform at the Sakifo (Reunion) World Music Festival held in Mauritius that brought together 40 rock bands from across the world. Avial was the lone band to be selected from India to represent the country in the festival. The experience was special for the band since the crowd was multinational, mostly French. Impressed with their music, the popular Italian band 'A67 approached them to be a part of one of their forthcoming album, ‘Suburb’, its one song collaboration. The collaboration spawned the song "Chi Me Sape".
At the Jack Daniels Annual Rock Awards 08-09, Avial walked away the winner of six awards – Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and Band of the Year, for both the popular choice and critics award categories. In their recent works, Avial did the popular song "Aanakkallan" in the malayalam movie Salt N' Pepper

Alobo Naga is a very talented soulful / Acoustic artist, composer and a songwriter who also plays the guitar and Piano with competent ease. In 2003 he was adjudged as the best vocalist and best performer in a musical contest ‘Summer Jam 2003’ besides many other contests won, Alobo was the winner of North East India audition for International Music Competition and Festival Montenegro Held on April 24 at NEZCC Shilpgram in Guwahati.
Alobo Naga holds a grade 8 certificate in Concert performance in Contemporary Vocals, from Rock School under Trinity School of Music, London. he is also a music teacher at the Furtados School of music, one of the premiere institutes of the country. Recently he won the Best Folk Fusion song Award in the Nagaland Music Award 2011 for his song "Kumsujulo" from his Solo debut album. he is also a music teacher at the Furtados School of music, one of the premiere institutes of the country.
Alobo Naga & The Band’s song ‘Painted Dreams’ was selected as the Theme Song of the prestigious International Short Film Festival 2011 –Guwahati. The song "Painted Dreams" went up to No.4 at International Top 10 chart at VH1, and was successively pronounced one of the top 50 videos of 2011 by the same channel.
At the Nagaland Music awards 2011 the band won honors including, "Best Rock song" for 'Painted Dreams', "Best Producer" and "Best Mixing" .

Abiogenesis is a fusion/rock band from Nagaland, India . Not satisfied with just playing mainstream music and their hunger to take music to a higher level, the band went further into exploration & experimentation which resulted in a new form of world music which they have named 'Howey' . . Howey is now Abiogenesis brand of music.They also play a new wind musical instrument made of bamboo invented by a band member Moa. Abiogenesis is the only band in the world that plays Howey & Bamhum. Known for their energetic and lively acts, they have performed in many places in India, Thailand, Bhutan and Myanmar. They had also performed for the Royal Family in Bhutan during Indian Independence day 2011. Abiogenesis is empanelled by Indian Council For Cultural Relations, Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. 5. Pentagram
Pentagram is a four piece Indian rock/electronica band started in 1994 in Mumbai, India. Regarded as one of the pioneers of original Indian independent music, the band has received much recognition and has played in venues around the world including the Glastonbury festival in the UK in 2005.
Pentagram is fronted by Vishal Dadlani (one half of the film music producing duo Vishal-Shekhar) with Randolph Correia (also of Shaa'ir + Func) on guitars, Papal Mane on bass and Shiraz Bhattacharya (also of Shkabang) on drums.
Pentagram received their initial recognition and fame by winning three major rock competitions at the Kanpur, Delhi and Bombay IIT's. Of these, Livewire (annual band competition at IIT Bombay) landed them a record deal. This record deal with Plus Music led to the release of their debut album We Are Not Listening in 1996 and it was listed by Rhythm House as the fastest selling rock album.
Pentagram were MTV India's 'Artist of the Month' award in 1997 and also won the Channel V awards for Best Live Band and Best Indian Band in 1997 & 1998. The second album Up (2002) saw the band’s sound evolve into a deliberate, definitive electro rock. The album went on to sell over 15,000 copies and was rated by Indiecision as one of the top 25 albums of the decade. Following their increasing popularity they headlined the Sundance Music Festival in Estonia in 2003, a first for any Indian band and were also invited to, and played at the Glastonbury Music Festival in 2005 where they shared the stage with international contemporary giants like Coldplay, Chemical Brothers, Tori Amos, Fat Boy Slim and White Stripes.
